Jim and I flew
to Alpharetta, GA for me to compete with 1,000 athletes from 40
countries for the 10K run, 40K bike, and final 5K run. It was considered
a very challenging course due to hills and turns. It was a 3 loop
bike and all the women raced at 7:30 AM with cool temperatures and
no wind, which was ideal for me. I was fortunate to get a bronze
medal for women 65-69, even though my time was 4 hours.
Jim volunteered
4 days, setting up bike racks prior to race days and also worked
helping race officials three races on Sat. and 4 on Sunday.
Next year the
worlds for duathlon will be in Switzerland.
It was a real
joy to be there and made it easy (and cheaper) to be in USA this
year !!!
